Overview
- The Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate the batch of redeveloped stations on Friday, July 17, in a single coordinated ceremony covering 75 Amrit Bharat stations across multiple states.
- Railway zones report physical completion of many projects with notable examples including Hi‑Tech City in Hyderabad (₹26 crore), Jaisalmer (about ₹140 crore) and Paralakhemundi (₹17 crore).
- Upgrades focus on passenger flow and accessibility, featuring wide 12‑metre foot overbridges, lifts and escalators, tactile pathways, accessible toilets and improved waiting halls.
- Projects also include sustainability and operations upgrades such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting, CCTV and automatic ticket vending machines, while local ceremonies will be held at each station with zonal officials and elected representatives present.
- The inaugurations are part of the multi‑year Amrit Bharat Station Scheme that has earlier completed and dedicated stations and that officials say aims to modernize rail hubs, support tourism and create new local retail and revenue opportunities.
