Overview

  • PMO says the Prime Minister will visit Gujarat on August 25–26 to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects across energy, rail, roads and urban development worth over Rs 5,400 crore.
  • Railway works worth over Rs 1,400 crore include doubling of the MehsanaPalanpur line and gauge conversion on the Kalol–Kadi–Katosan corridor, with additional upgrades reported on the Bechraji–Ranuj route.
  • Power distribution modernisation under RDSS totals about Rs 1,122 crore across Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Gandhinagar, targeting underground networks for roughly 4.25 lakh consumers and adding the Gota (Rs 75 crore) and Chandkheda-II (Rs 39 crore) substations.
  • Urban measures include slum redevelopment under PMAY (U) and major road-widening in Ahmedabad, including works along the Sardar Patel Ring Road and the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura stretch.
  • On August 26 in Hansalpur, the Prime Minister will flag off Suzuki’s e VITARA for export to over 100 countries and inaugurate localised production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS plant, with the PMO citing over 80% battery value made in India.
