Overview

• The Prime Minister will inaugurate and address the 16th Combined Commanders' Conference in Kolkata in the morning before traveling to Purnea for project launches.
• A 3×800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti, billed as Bihar’s largest private-sector investment at Rs 25,000 crore with ultra-supercritical low-emission technology, will have its foundation stone laid to bolster the state’s power supply.
• Connectivity upgrades include inaugurating the Interim Terminal Building at Purnea Airport—making it Bihar’s fourth operational commercial airport—and advancing rail links such as the Bikramshila–Katareah line (≈Rs 2,170 crore) and the Araria–Galgalia line (≈Rs 4,410 crore), with new Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat services on specified routes.
• Targeted agri-dairy measures feature the launch of the National Makhana Board to support a crop that Bihar largely produces and the opening of a sex‑sorted semen facility in Purnea capable of 5 lakh doses annually using indigenous technology.
• Water management and welfare deliveries will proceed with Phase 1 of the Kosi–Mechi river link to raise canal discharge to 20,000 cusecs, Griha Pravesh for 35,000 rural and 5,920 urban PMAY beneficiaries, and Rs 500 crore in Community Investment Funds for DAY‑NRLM groups.
