Modi To Open ESTIC 2025 Today With Launch Of ₹1 Lakh Crore RDI Fund

The six-year scheme uses concessional finance to shift R&D leadership to the private sector.

Overview

  • The three-day conclave runs November 3–5 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to address attendees around 9:30 am.
  • The Research, Development and Innovation Scheme has a ₹1 lakh crore outlay over six years, with ₹20,000 crore earmarked for FY 2025–26 from the Consolidated Fund of India.
  • Support will be provided through long-term low or zero‑interest loans, equity investments and contributions to a Deep‑Tech Fund of Funds, with no grants or short‑term loans.
  • Organizers expect more than 3,000 participants from academia, industry, research institutions and government, including Nobel laureates and eminent scientists.
  • Deliberations will target 11 areas that include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum, space, health technologies, energy and climate, advanced materials, bio‑manufacturing, digital communications, agriculture technologies and the blue economy.
