Overview

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan in Bhopal on May 31 to mark the queen’s tercentenary.
  • He will unveil a commemorative Rs 300 coin and a postage stamp featuring Ahilyabai Holkar’s portrait.
  • Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the Super Priority Corridor of the Indore Metro and the newly built airports at Datia and Satna, and to lay the foundation for ghats and water-management projects on the Kshipra River.
  • Madhya Pradesh has organised a year-long series of seminars, cultural performances, essay competitions and a statewide women’s bike rally to celebrate Holkar’s legacy of good governance, temple restoration and social reform.
