Modi to Lead Unity Day at Statue of Unity, Launch Over Rs 1,140 Crore in Projects and E-Buses

The visit spotlights a unity message through new investments in green mobility, tourism infrastructure, tribal development.

Overview

  • Across October 30–31 in Ekta Nagar, the Prime Minister will flag off 25 electric buses and a charging depot, inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects, offer a floral tribute to Sardar Patel, administer the unity pledge, and review the parade.
  • The development package is valued at over Rs 1,140 crore, with some briefings citing totals near Rs 1,220 crore, spanning Birsa Munda Tribal University, a hospitality district, walkways and smart bus stops, plus foundations for the Royal Kingdoms Museum, Veer Balak Udyan, a sports complex, a rainforest project, a jetty and travelators.
  • The Unity Day parade will feature contingents from CAPFs, multiple state police forces and the NCC, with all contingents commanded by woman officers and Simran Bhardwaj serving as parade commander.
  • Ten tableaux and a 900-artist cultural programme will accompany special displays including a BSF camel contingent, an Assam Police motorcycle show and Indian-bred dog squads, following full dress rehearsals in Kevadia.
  • A Rs 150 commemorative coin and a postage stamp will be released, gallantry awardees from CRPF and BSF will be honoured for actions in anti-Naxal and counter-terror operations, and the Prime Minister will interact with 660 civil service officer trainees at Aarambh 7.0.
