Modi to Lay Foundation Stone for India’s Largest Nuclear Power Project in Rajasthan on Sept. 25

The visit anchors a multi-project rollout topping Rs 1.21 lakh crore.

Overview

  • Planned near the Mahi Dam on the RajasthanMadhya Pradesh border, the Mahi–Banswara plant is slated to cost ₹45,000 crore and deliver 2,800 MW under the Nuclear Energy Mission.
  • Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are expected to attend alongside cabinet ministers from both states.
  • State officials led by Additional Chief Secretary Abhay Kumar have issued detailed directives covering VVIP stays, public transport to the venue, medical teams, utilities, mobile toilets, security and live telecast.
  • According to the Rajasthan chief minister, the Prime Minister will also dedicate clean-energy projects and inaugurate three trains: Bikaner–Delhi Cantt. Vande Bharat, Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt. Vande Bharat and Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express.
  • Event planning includes inter-departmental coordination, crowd management and venue readiness, with the programme promoted as advancing energy security and regional development.
