Modi to Launch Rs 5,100-Crore Projects in Arunachal on Sept 22

Overview

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay foundation stones for the 240 MW Heo and 186 MW Tato-I hydropower projects, a combined investment of over Rs 3,700 crore.
  • Tato-I is estimated at Rs 1,750 crore with expected generation of 802 million units annually, while Heo is pegged at Rs 1,939 crore and about 1,000 million units a year, with both implemented by Arunachal Pradesh and NEEPCO.
  • Beyond power, the Prime Minister will launch additional projects worth roughly Rs 1,290 crore spanning connectivity upgrades, healthcare facilities, fire services and hostels for working women.
