Modi to Launch Rs 18,531-Crore Projects in Assam on September 14

  • Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Prime Minister will arrive in Guwahati on September 13 at 4:20 pm, with the main programme scheduled in Mangaldai on September 14 at 11 am.
  • The Guwahati Ring Road, estimated at Rs 7,000 crore, will span Kamrup and Darrang before extending into Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district.
  • Foundation stones will be laid for Darrang Medical College with an attached nursing college and GNM school, a healthcare package pegged at Rs 567 crore.
  • The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the Narengi–Kuruwa bridge across the Brahmaputra to improve regional connectivity.
  • He is slated to dedicate a Rs 4,200 crore bio-ethanol plant at Numaligarh Refinery in Golaghat as part of the clean-fuel push.
