Modi to Inaugurate Three Kolkata Metro Stretches Friday, Unveiling First Direct Airport Link

  • He will flag off the Noapara–Jai Hind Bimanbandar service at Jessore Road and launch the Sealdah–Esplanade and Beleghata–Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretches via video.
  • Officials say the new services will add 366 daily trains and raise carrying capacity toward 9.15 lakh passengers.
  • The Yellow, Green and Orange segments span 6.77 km, 2.45 km and 4.3 km, connecting key rail hubs, the IT corridor and the airport.
  • Modi will also lay the foundation for a 7.2 km elevated Kona Expressway corridor in Howrah valued at over ₹1,200 crore.
