Overview
- Phase 1 opens with a single integrated Terminal 1 built for 20 million passengers annually, plus a cargo facility planned at 0.5 million tonnes in the initial stage.
- Authorities and operators expect commercial services to start in December 2025 after 45–60 days of system testing and security handovers, with initial hours planned from 8 am to 8 pm.
- The airport has been officially named Loknete DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport, and the state has cleared a dedicated police station with 108 sanctioned posts.
- Developers highlight a largely digital passenger experience with pre-booked parking, online check-in, virtual queuing and Digi Yatra, alongside sustainability features including a 47 MW solar plant and raised, flood-resilient design.
- Connectivity is anchored by the Atal Setu, a near-ready Targhar railway station, planned Metro Line 8 and future water-taxi links, while an Automated People Mover will connect the four terminals as the airport scales toward 90 million passengers by 2036.
