Modi To Inaugurate Lucknow’s Rashtra Prerna Sthal on Vajpayee’s 101st Birth Anniversary

The lotus-shaped complex pairs monumental statues with a museum to anchor nationwide commemorations.

  • The Prime Minister will open the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow at 2:30 pm on December 25 and deliver a public address.
  • Built over about 65 acres for roughly Rs 230 crore, the site features 65-foot bronze statues of Vajpayee, Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya, plus a two-storey museum with five galleries and 12 interpretation walls.
  • Facilities include an amphitheatre for 3,000, a meditation hall, a yoga centre, helipads and a rally ground designed for more than 2 lakh people.
  • Security has been tightened with the SPG taking charge of the campus, while the BJP works to draw around 2 lakh attendees, with senior leaders reviewing preparations.
  • Amit Shah unveiled a 41-foot Vajpayee statue in Panchkula on December 24 and is slated to lead events on December 25 in Gwalior, where the state plans land allocation worth about Rs 2 lakh crore and project launches of roughly Rs 10,000 crore.
