Modi to Inaugurate India’s First Digital Museum Honouring Tribal Freedom Fighters in Chhattisgarh

The 10-acre, Rs 50 crore facility uses immersive digital storytelling to preserve accounts of Chhattisgarh’s tribal uprisings.

  • The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum will be inaugurated in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar during the Prime Minister’s day-long visit on Saturday, ahead of Tribal Pride Week.
  • Built as a digital-first institution, it features VFX, digital projections, interactive screens, QR codes, and an AI camera that places visitors in traditional attire.
  • Galleries trace 14 regional revolts and movements, including the Halba and Sarguja uprisings, Bhopalpatnam, Paralkot, Tarapur, Bhumkal, Sonakhan, and the Jhanda and Jungle Satyagrahas.
  • The entrance showcases wood carvings by Sarguja artisans and replicas of Sal, Mahua, and Saja trees with digital leaves that narrate revolt stories, alongside sculptures of tribal icons such as Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Shaheed Gend Singh.
  • The visit also includes the launch of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 14,260 crore and the unveiling of an Atal Bihari Vajpayee statue at the newly built state assembly, according to IANS reporting.
