Overview
- The Yellow Line has secured final safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s inauguration.
- Commercial services are set to launch on August 11, offering daily operations from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Only three driverless trainsets will run initially at 25-minute headways until a full fleet of 15 arrives next year.
- The 19.15 km corridor links RV Road to Bommasandra across 16 stations to serve around 800,000 daily commuters and relieve Silk Board Junction congestion.
- The ceremony will also kick off the Rs 15,611 crore Phase-3 expansion, a 44.65 km, 31-station project targeting underserved western corridors by late 2029.
