Modi to Hoist Saffron Flag on Ram Temple Shikhara on Nov. 25

Organisers frame the tightly managed rite as the temple’s completion milestone.

Overview

  • Authorities have imposed tight security and access controls, cancelling pilgrim stays within 200 metres of the complex, closing Ram Path to the public from 6 am to 2:30 pm, restricting pedestrian movement, and deploying SPG and additional CISF with special airport plans for chartered flights.
  • Darshan at Ram Lalla closes from Monday evening for preparations, the temple will host invitees only on Tuesday, and the sanctum is set to remain open for more than 16 hours on Wednesday to accommodate devotees.
  • Around 6,000–7,000 guests are invited, with designated seating blocks and a large LED screen for proceedings, and entry for attendees is scheduled between 7:30 am and 9:00 am.
  • The hoisting is slated for a late-morning shubh muhurat as a brief ritual of about four minutes, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat present and the date aligning with Vivah Panchami.
  • Ayodhya’s staging includes extensive cleanliness drives and floral decorations using roughly 100 tonnes of flowers, successful flag-hoisting trials, and a saffron banner bearing Om, the Sun and the Kovidara tree, described by the PMO as a 10-by-20-foot triangular flag.
