Modi to Hoist Saffron Flag on Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on Nov. 25

The hoisting marks the shrine’s main construction as complete under a tightly controlled, invite-only ceremony.

Overview

  • The four-minute ritual is slated during the shubh muhurat around noon, with 21 Vedic acharyas participating and helicopters set to shower flower petals.
  • According to the PMO, the right-angled triangular flag measures 10 feet by 20 feet and bears Om, a radiant Sun, and the Kovidara tree.
  • Access is restricted to invited guests on Nov. 25 as darshan is paused for setup, with Ram Path closed 6 am–2:30 pm, nearby bookings within 200 meters canceled, and heavy vehicles barred from entering Ayodhya.
  • Roughly 6,000 invitees are expected, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh leaders, following trial runs, staff training orders, and the release of new temple visuals.
  • Ayodhya has been decorated with about 100 tonnes of flowers and enhanced cleanliness drives, with airport and crowd plans in place and extended darshan planned for Nov. 26.
