Modi to Attend Kurukshetra Gita Mahotsav on Nov. 25, Marking Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th Martyrdom

Overview

• The 10th International Gita Mahotsav runs Nov. 15–Dec. 5 in Kurukshetra, with the main slate scheduled for Nov. 24–Dec. 1.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join Nov. 25 programmes at the festival and a state-level commemoration of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th martyrdom anniversary.
• Madhya Pradesh serves as partner state, building a cultural pavilion at Purushottampura Bagh near Brahma Sarovar.
• A three-day International Gita Seminar opens Nov. 24 at Kurukshetra University with 25 scholars from 16 countries.
• Dec. 1 brings a Gita Yagna at Jyotisar, a mass recitation by 18,000 students, a simultaneous Deepotsav across 182 tirthas, plus daily Maha Aarti and a Nov. 24–Dec. 1 Gita Book Fair at Brahma Sarovar.
