Overview

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the interim terminal at Purnea Airport and flagged the first commercial flight on the Purnea–Kolkata route.
• He launched the National Makhana Board to boost production, processing, branding and export support for Bihar’s makhana growers.
• Foundation stones were laid for the 3x800 MW Pirpainti thermal power project worth Rs 25,000 crore and for Phase 1 of the Kosi–Mechi river‑link works exceeding Rs 2,680 crore.
• Rail upgrades included inaugurating the Rs 4,410 crore Araria–Galgalia line, laying the Rs 2,170 crore Bikramshila–Katareah link across the Ganga, and flagging off the Jogbani–Danapur Vande Bharat plus two Amrit Bharat services.
• Keys were handed to more than 40,000 PMAY beneficiaries and about Rs 500 crore in community investment funds was distributed to women’s federations under DAY‑NRLM.
