Overview
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes, administered the Unity Day pledge and reviewed a Republic Day-style parade at Ekta Nagar featuring CAPF and state police contingents, tableaux and a large cultural programme.
- Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the parade will be institutionalised every October 31 at Ekta Nagar, with this year’s schedule also adding a ₹150 coin and a commemorative postage stamp for Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
- Bharat Parv is set for November 1–15 in Ekta Nagar, with cultural performances and food festivals, and an expanded nationwide Run for Unity followed by a public Unity Pledge.
- On October 30, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth over ₹1,140 crore around the Statue of Unity, including flagging off 25 e-buses and works tied to the Birsa Munda Tribal University and a hospitality district.
- Parade participants included CAPF units, state police contingents, awardees from BSF and CRPF operations, and officer trainees from LBSNAA, as President Droupadi Murmu also issued a message honoring Patel’s unification of India.
