Overview
- On January 17 in Malda, the prime minister will flag off India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper between Howrah and Guwahati and unveil rail and road works worth over Rs 3,250 crore.
- He will later reach Guwahati to watch the Bagurumba folk dance performed by about 10,000 Bodo artists at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Stadium.
- On January 18 in Kaliabor, he will perform the bhoomi pujan for the Kaziranga elevated corridor, a roughly Rs 6,950–6,957 crore, 86-km NH-715 upgrade featuring 35 km of elevated wildlife corridor, 21 km of bypasses and 30 km of widening.
- The project spans Nagaon, Karbi Anglong and Golaghat districts to improve connectivity and reduce human–wildlife conflict around Kaziranga National Park.
- Also on January 18, he will virtually flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains—Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar and Kamakhya–Rohtak—and address a public meeting at Kaliabor before a Singur stop to launch projects worth around Rs 830 crore.
