Overview

• At a public programme in Itanagar, the prime minister laid foundation stones for 13 projects worth Rs 5,127 crore, led by the Heo (240 MW) and Tato‑I (186 MW) hydropower plants to be executed by NEEPCO in joint venture with the state.
• The two hydel projects carry a combined cost of about Rs 3,689 crore and a projected 1,803 million units of annual generation, with Arunachal to receive free power of roughly Rs 98 crore and a Local Area Development Fund of over Rs 16 crore each year after commissioning.
• He also launched Rs 1,291 crore in infrastructure schemes that include the proposed 1,830‑km Frontier Highway near the McMahon Line and Phase II of the Vibrant Village Programme covering 122 border villages with roads, 4G and electrification.
• A state‑of‑the‑art convention centre for Tawang moved forward with a foundation stone for a roughly Rs 147‑crore facility designed to host more than 1,500 delegates under the PM‑DevINE scheme.
• Later in Tripura, he inaugurated development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari temple complex under the PRASAD scheme after meeting traders and artisans in Itanagar to highlight GST rate rationalisation and “Vocal for Local.”
