Modi Launches Rs 1.22 Lakh Crore Projects in Rajasthan, Lays Foundation for 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Plant

Overview

  • Projects worth about Rs 1.22 lakh crore were unveiled, with roughly Rs 1,08,468 crore earmarked for Rajasthan across energy, water, transport, health and urban works.
  • The Mahi Banswara nuclear project (4x700 MW PHWRs) worth around Rs 42,000 crore was launched under ASHVINI and NPCIL as part of India’s standardized reactor rollout.
  • Green power additions included inaugurations of 1,400 MW of solar, the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park, and feeder-level solarisation of 3,517 MW under PM-KUSUM across multiple states.
  • Grid expansion featured high-capacity corridors to evacuate 15.5 GW from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zones, plus new substations to strengthen western Rajasthan’s network.
  • Public services saw drinking water projects of about Rs 5,884 crore, key irrigation works, new and upgraded roads and flyovers, a 250-bed hospital, an IT e-governance center, three train services flagged off, and appointment letters for 15,000 youths.
