Overview
- Hosted by the Parliament of India from January 14–16, the conference is chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
- The event features 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers from 42 Commonwealth countries, plus delegates from four semi-autonomous parliaments.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the meeting at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan and addressed participants.
- Sessions include AI in parliamentary work led by Malaysia, social media’s impact presented by Sri Lanka, and citizen engagement strategies with contributions from Nigeria and South Africa, alongside discussions on member security, health and well-being.
- Attending delegations include representatives from Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Namibia, Trinidad and Tobago, Tonga, Cameroon and Malaysia, with the Australian High Commission led by High Commissioner Philip Green.
