Overview

  • The Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway span, was completed this month to strengthen connectivity on the Jammu–Baramulla line.
  • The cabinet approved ₹6,405 crore for rail multi-tracking across Jharkhand, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, adding 318 km to the network and linking more than 1,400 villages.
  • India’s digital economy accounted for 11.74 percent of national income in 2022–23, with internet users rising from 25.15 crore to 96.96 crore and direct benefit transfers exceeding ₹44 lakh crore.
  • Welfare schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and Ujjwala Yojana have built over 3.7 crore homes, insured more than 9 crore people and provided over 3.6 crore LPG connections.
  • Reform-driven policies have doubled per capita income to ₹2 lakh, lifted over 25 crore out of poverty and elevated India to the world’s fourth-largest economy with a GDP of USD 4.187 trillion.
