Modi Flags Off Four New Non-AC Amrit Bharat Express Trains From Bihar

Bringing the fleet to seven routes, the new trains will begin daily service on the PatnaNew Delhi line from July 31 with fares starting at Rs 560.

Overview

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the four new non-AC Amrit Bharat Express trains from Motihari, extending modern rail service in eastern India.
  • With five originating services, Bihar now leads all states in Amrit Bharat deployments ahead of assembly elections.
  • The Rajendra Nagar–New Delhi route spans 998 km in 16 hours 20 minutes, halting at eight stations and operating daily from July 31 (outbound) and August 1 (return).
  • Each train consists of eight Sleeper coaches, eleven General coaches, two luggage-cum-brake vans and a pantry car, all equipped with mobile charging points, bio-vacuum toilets and ergonomic seating.
  • The Ministry of Railways plans to produce 100 additional Amrit Bharat rakes under the Make in India initiative to expand affordable long-distance connectivity.
