  • Speaking at rallies in Gaya and Kolkata, the Prime Minister argued that politicians should not run governments from jail, contrasting rules for ministers with the 50‑hour suspension trigger for government employees.
  • The Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, introduced this week and sent to a joint parliamentary committee, would vacate the posts of a PM, CM or minister after 30 consecutive days of detention over serious offences.
  • In Kolkata, Modi inaugurated about Rs 5,200 crore of works and flagged off metro services on the Noapara–Jai Hind Bimanbandar, Sealdah–Esplanade and BeleghataHemanta Mukhopadhyay stretches; Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee skipped the event.
  • Earlier in Bihar, he launched roughly Rs 12,000–13,000 crore of projects, including the Aunta–Simaria Ganga bridge, the Buxar thermal power unit and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Muzaffarpur, and announced new train services.
  • He accused the Congress, RJD and TMC of protecting corrupt leaders and supporting “infiltrators,” linking the issue to demographic shifts in border districts and referencing a planned demography mission.
