Modi Concludes Sri Lanka Visit with Railway Launch, Defense Pacts, and Tamil Support

Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to the Tamil community in Sri Lanka, urging the fulfillment of their aspirations and the conduct of provincial council elections.
The visit highlighted India's efforts to counter China's influence in Sri Lanka by emphasizing economic partnerships, cultural ties, and concessional financing exceeding $2 billion.
Modi was honored with Sri Lanka's highest civilian award, the 'Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushana,' and visited the culturally significant Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi temple in Anuradhapura.
