• Modi returned to New Delhi on July 10 after state visits to Brazil—where he attended the BRICS summit and received the Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross—and to Namibia as the final leg of his tour
• In Windhoek he met President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, addressed a joint session of parliament, and was conferred Namibia’s Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis
• India and Namibia signed MoUs to establish an Entrepreneurship Development Centre and expand collaboration in health and medicine, with Namibia joining the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and the Global Biofuels Alliance Namibia agreed to implement India’s Unified Payments Interface system later this year, marking its first adoption of UPI and a significant extension of India’s digital public infrastructure
• The tour cemented India’s Global South strategy by broadening cooperation on trade diversification, critical minerals security, defence collaboration, and institutional partnerships
