- Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kolkata on Sunday evening and will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference at Eastern Command headquarters on Monday morning.
- The conference runs September 15–17 at Vijay Durg (Fort William) in Kolkata, with sessions billed as the armed forces’ apex strategic forum.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, the service chiefs and senior officials are slated to attend.
