Modi Arrives in Bhutan for Two-Day Visit to Inaugurate 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Bhutan and was received at Paro airport by Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay for the state visit running November 11–12.
  • Modi and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will jointly inaugurate the 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II hydropower project, billed as a major boost to Bhutan’s generation capacity and clean power supplies to India.
  • He will take part in the Global Peace Prayer Festival and offer prayers to the Sacred Piprahwa Relics of Lord Buddha at Tashichhodzong in Thimphu.
