Overview
- Of the total, Rs 1,600 crore is earmarked for Punjab and Rs 1,500 crore for Himachal Pradesh, with ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
- The Prime Minister conducted aerial surveys and held review meetings in Kangra and Gurdaspur, meeting affected families and NDRF/SDRF personnel.
- Assistance includes advance release of the second SDRF instalment and PM Kisan funds, plus support via PM Awas Yojana, school repairs under Samagra Shiksha, highway restoration, water-harvesting works, livestock mini-kits and farm inputs such as borewell repair, solar pumps and micro-irrigation.
