Modern Warfare 4 Integrates With Warzone in Season 1 Launch

Warzone will adopt MW4 maps, weapons, and progression systems, creating an early gameplay advantage for players who already own or have progressed in Modern Warfare 4.

Overview

  • The Season 1 update, which launches on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 5am UK time, will fold Modern Warfare 4 into Warzone so the free-to-play mode runs on MW4 systems.
  • Two new maps arrive at launch — Hajin for Battle Royale and Zodiac for Resurgence — with Verdansk and Rebirth Island scheduled to return mid-season.
  • MW4 weapons and mechanics become the primary loot pool while weapons from 2022–2025 Call of Duty titles remain usable but cannot be edited in the Gunsmith.
  • New gameplay features include dynamic weather on Hajin, a new Gulag with two variants, field upgrades such as the Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone, and a reworked Perk and equipment balance.
  • Player progression will be reset for Season 1, Warzone stays free-to-play through the Call of Duty launcher, and dropping last-generation console support for MW4 may limit who can access the full integrated experience.
