Overview
- The Ministry of Defence signed a memorandum of understanding with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation to establish the facility in Tiruchirappalli
- The project carries a ₹400 crore outlay under the Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
- A special purpose vehicle led by Micro Labs alongside TIDCO, BEML, HAL and Vaidheswaran Industries will cover the remaining 25 percent of project funding
- The facility will offer advanced mechanical and material testing services to both government and private defence manufacturers
- The centre is one of seven DTIS-approved facilities across Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh designed to advance the government’s self-reliance agenda in defence manufacturing
