MobiKwik Posts Highest Quarterly Profit as Revenue Rises 9%
Management says faster AI-driven automation with lower payment and lending costs produced operating leverage that is restoring profits.
Overview
- MobiKwik reported a consolidated net profit of ₹11.8 crore for Q2 FY27 in filings published Monday, marking its fourth consecutive profitable quarter and the company’s largest single-quarter profit to date.
- Operating revenue grew 9.4% year on year to ₹295.7 crore and EBITDA turned positive at ₹22.7 crore after an EBITDA loss in Q2 FY26.
- The company said major cost drops drove the turnaround, with payment processing charges down about 10.8% to ₹119.5 crore and lending operational expenses falling 88.1% to ₹1.5 crore.
- Customer and transaction scale expanded sharply as platform GMV reached ₹59,677 crore (about 35% YoY growth), consumer payments GMV rose 27% and registered users climbed to 196.3 million while lending disbursals grew 34%.
- MobiKwik credited rapid AI adoption for efficiency gains—citing internal metrics on AI-generated code, automated customer support, fraud detection and collections—but those single-source claims need outside verification and could materially affect margins if sustained.
