Overview
- The challenge invites solutions across four thematic areas—affordability, resilience, inclusivity and environmental sustainability—to boost rooftop solar adoption
- Applicants will compete for a ₹2.3 crore prize pool, with ₹1 crore for the top entry, ₹50 lakh for second, ₹30 lakh for third and ten ₹5 lakh consolation awards
- Winners will receive incubation support from MNRE and NISE, pilot implementation opportunities and mentorship from industry experts and investors
- Unveiled June 21 at a national renewable energy conference, the initiative is administered by MNRE with backing from the National Institute of Solar Energy and coordination with Startup India and DPIIT
- Startups in sectors such as green tech, IoT, AI, blockchain, construction, energy hardware, fintech and waste management are eligible to apply
