• Lalrintluanga Sailo passed away at 9 pm on July 21 at Max Superspeciality Hospital in New Delhi after nearly a month-long battle with scrub typhus and pneumonia.
• His mortal remains arrived at Aizawl’s Lengpui airport on July 22 afternoon and will be taken to his Luangmual residence ahead of Wednesday’s funeral.
• The MNF mourned the loss of a loyal core committee member whose political journey spanned from the party’s 1976 insurgency to two terms as Dampa MLA.
• Governor VK Singh and Chief Minister Lalduhoma expressed deep sorrow for Sailo’s service to Mizoram and instructed officers to assist his family.
• Sailo is survived by his wife, Pi Lalbiakthuami, and their children.
