MMRDA Sanctions ₹12,000 Crore for Mumbai Metro Expansion and Smart Transport

Overview

  • The MMRDA Executive Committee approved over ₹12,000 crore in contracts for metro corridors and smart transport initiatives across Mumbai.
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd. secured a ₹4,788 crore deal for integrated systems on Metro Lines 4 and 4A covering rolling stock, signaling, depot works and five years of maintenance.
  • IRCON International Ltd. and NCC Ltd. won ₹668.15 crore and ₹2,269.66 crore contracts respectively for traction, power supply, E&M systems and rolling stock on Metro Line 6.
  • Additional awards include a ₹249.97 crore automatic fare collection package for Lines 4 and 4A and revised civil works allocations for Metro Line 4A and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.
  • Approved contracts span systems integration, multi-modal links, automatic fare collection, traction power and depot infrastructure to create a commuter-centric network.
