Overview
- MMRDA completed installation of a 58-metre-long, 450-tonne span over Pantnagar-Ghatkopar bus station using five steel girders in just two nights.
- The heavy-lift operation used two 700-tonne cranes and one 500-tonne crane with 500-tonne and 80-tonne backup units.
- More than 100 workers, engineers and safety staff were supported by over 50 trained traffic wardens to manage urban constraints.
- The lift overcame heavy rain, dense traffic on the Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road and tight space near the Somaiya nullah.
- The project has reached 84.5% completion and will next undergo track laying, systems installation and station fit-out phases before commissioning.
