Overview

  • The Maharashtra government issued a resolution on June 18, 2025, naming MMRDA as the nodal agency for the Dharavi MMTH project.
  • MMRDA will coordinate with NHSRCL, MMRCL, CSIA, Central and Western Railways, and BEST to integrate rail, metro, air, and bus services.
  • The planned hub will link suburban stations at Mahim, Sion, and Chunabhatti with Metro Lines 2B, 3, 8, and 11.
  • It is designed to connect with the Bandra-Kurla Complex Bullet Train Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, and the new Navi Mumbai International Airport.
  • A professional agency will be appointed to conduct feasibility and detailed structuring studies for a 24-hour urban centre featuring retail outlets, hotels, offices, a convention centre, restaurants, and cafés.
