MLS Suspends FC Cincinnati's Matt Miazga for Three Games

Defender of the Year to miss Eastern Conference final following misconduct after New York Red Bulls match

FC Cincinnati defender Matt Miazga has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount by MLS for misconduct following a game against the New York Red Bulls on Nov. 4.
Miazga, recently voted the 2023 MLS defender of the year, will miss the Eastern Conference final and, if Cincinnati advances, MLS Cup due to suspension.
The suspension was issued after Miazga entered the officials locker room without authorization and acted in an aggressive and hostile manner.
Miazga can petition for a reduction in suspension based on continued commitment and compliance with any recommended treatment programs.
Any matches that remain from Miazga's suspension will be served during the 2024 regular season.
