MLBPA Elects Six New Members to Executive Subcommittee

Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal and Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes are among the newly elected players leading the MLB players' union.

The MLB Players Association has elected six new members to its eight-player executive subcommittee for two-year terms.
Notable additions include Detroit Tigers pitcher and 2024 AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal and Pittsburgh Pirates rookie Paul Skenes, who won the 2024 NL Rookie of the Year award.
The newly elected members also include Jake Cronenworth, Chris Bassitt, Pete Fairbanks, and Cedric Mullins, joining returning members Marcus Semien and Brent Suter.
Six outgoing members, including Jack Flaherty, Ian Happ, and Lucas Giolito, completed their terms after advocating unsuccessfully earlier this year for changes in union leadership.
The elections took place during the MLBPA's annual meetings, with representatives from all 30 MLB teams participating in the voting process.
