The first round will feature all eight contestants, with the top four advancing based on home run totals.
Rounds are now capped at 40 pitches, and bonus time will be measured by outs instead of a clock.
The semifinals and finals will follow a bracket-style format, with reseeding based on first-round performance.
Players can earn extra outs in the bonus period for hitting home runs over 425 feet.
Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles is the first confirmed participant for this year's event.
