- Spring action opens Feb. 20 with a limited set of games and the first full league-wide slate follows on Feb. 21.
- MLB scheduled 28 exhibitions against World Baseball Classic teams on March 3–4, including Giants–Team USA, Red Sox–Puerto Rico, Brewers–Great Britain, Orioles–Netherlands, Braves–Colombia and Cubs–Italy.
- The third Spring Breakout runs March 19–22 in an expanded two-day format, with matchups such as Braves prospects vs. Yankees prospects and Brewers prospects facing the Mariners and A’s on separate dates.
