MLB takes over Diamondbacks broadcast rights after court ruling allows contract rejection

Major League Baseball will produce and distribute all Diamondbacks games starting Tuesday after a bankruptcy court approved Diamond Sports Group's contract rejection.
The change comes after Diamond Sports Group, owner of 19 regional sports networks, was allowed to shed its money-losing deal with the Diamondbacks.
MLB previously took over broadcasts of San Diego Padres games in May when Diamond missed payment deadlines.
The new arrangement expands availability of Diamondbacks games by removing blackout restrictions and increasing reach from 930,000 to 5.6 million homes.
Fans can access games for free on MLB platforms through Sunday, after which a streaming subscription will be required, along with deals MLB struck with various local media.
