Overview
- The Amateur Recovery Period covers high school juniors and seniors from Oct. 15 to Jan. 15 and college players from Nov. 15 to Jan. 15.
- During that window, club personnel may not attend games, showcases, practices or workouts, nor collect video, ball-tracking, bat-tracking or biomechanical data.
- Violations can bring fines, suspensions or permanent ineligible-list placement for individuals, with potential draft or international signing sanctions for teams.
- The policy begins next month, two days after Perfect Game’s WWBA World Championship, following MLB’s injury review and consultations with more than 200 stakeholders.
- Players may still participate in offseason events and agents are not covered, and teams must report any unsolicited video or data received during the blackout.
