Mizoram Wins Special Award for Traffic Management at UMI 2025

- The award was conferred during the valedictory session of the 18th Urban Mobility India Conference in Gurugram, held November 7–9.
- Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and Minister of State Tokhan Sahu presented the honour to UD&PA secretary Lalmalsawma Pachuau.
- Mizoram’s Town & Country Planning Wing entered the selection with a video and PowerPoint submitted on October 16 to the Award Selection Committee.
- The submission highlighted disciplined lane use, restraint in honking, smooth flow despite limited road space, and the role of a Coordination Committee on Traffic Management.
- The state government dedicated the award to residents, crediting cooperation from the UD&PA Department, Traffic Police, and Transport Department, and noting Aizawl’s ‘Silent City’ reputation.
