  • The state achieved a 98.2% literacy rate as per the 2023–2024 Periodic Labour Force Survey, surpassing the 95% threshold required for recognition under the ULLAS initiative.
  • A door-to-door survey conducted in 2023 identified 3,026 non-literate individuals, of whom 1,692 participated in learning programs led by 292 volunteer teachers.
  • The literacy mission was supported by initiatives like Samagra Shiksha and the New India Literacy Programme, with a strong emphasis on community-driven efforts and the Mizo ethos of Tlawmngaihna.
  • Looking ahead, Mizoram aims to build on this success by promoting digital literacy, financial education, and entrepreneurial skills to sustain and deepen educational progress.
