Mizoram Accelerates Rubber Mission With Training Launch and 2026 Expansion Plans

- Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated the programme in Aizawl and released a rubber plantation management handbook.
- The government plans to plant 1,158,750 rubber saplings across 2,575 hectares during 2026.
- Infrastructure support this year includes 46.5 km of approach roads to plantations, along with rubber roller machines, tapping tools and marketing facilitation.
- Around 550 growers will be trained by experts from the Rubber Board of India and Servo Lubricants (IOCL), with additional sessions slated for Lunglei, Hnahthial, Lawngtlai and Siaha.
- The five-year mission targets 11,500 hectares under cultivation, with officials estimating about 50,000 hectares in the state are suitable for rubber.
