Overview

• The attack was reported around 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 21 in Shintomi’s Nitta area after a caller on the phone with the victim heard a scream and the line cut.
• Officers found the resident with stab wounds to her abdomen and thigh, and she was transported to a hospital conscious.
• Investigators say a male acquaintance was inside the residence and stabbed her as she returned home while on the phone before fleeing.
• Police describe the suspect as a man in his 30s about 170 centimeters tall and are conducting a search.
