Mix Tape Premieres in Sydney Ahead of Binge and Showcase Launch

Gaining SXSW acclaim with the TV Spotlight Audience Award last March, Mix Tape has since secured BBC distribution for UK viewers.

Overview

  • The Australian premiere took place on June 11 at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, attended by lead actors Teresa Palmer and Jim Sturgess along with the series’ creative team.
  • The four-part limited event series adapts Jane Sanderson’s novel to follow a cross-timeline romance set against a nostalgic soundtrack.
  • It will become available to Australian audiences on June 12 via Binge and on Showcase at 8:30pm with on-demand access.
  • Commissioned by Foxtel Group and produced by Aquarius Films and Subotica, the series was led by producers Angie Fielder, Polly Staniford, Aoife O’Sullivan and Tristan Orpen Lynch under director Lucy Gaffy with a screenplay by Jo Spain.
  • Major production investment came from Foxtel Group alongside Screen Australia and Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, with supplemental financing from the Finnish Impact Film Fund, Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund and The Post Lounge, and Boat Rocker will oversee global distribution.
